About Me
My name is Amy Whitman, an aspiring journalist and student at the State University of New York at New Paltz, pursuing a dual degree in Digital Media Production and Journalism. I am a member of the on-campus newspaper The Oracle and am a student-athlete at SUNY New Paltz, playing women's lacrosse. Due to my consistent participation in sports throughout my life, I am proficient in sports writing and photography, which makes up the majority of my portfolio. However, I am also interested in feature and entertainment journalism and have skills in writing, copyediting, photography and videography. I have completed an internship at the SUNY New Paltz Athletic Communications Department after volunteering there for two years. I intend to pursue another external internship in multimedia and journalism in 2026.
